Institute of Hotel Management, Kolkata is one of the premiere hospitality institutions in Eastern India, under the aegis of Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Founded in 1963, it focuses on imparting quality education by preparing young minds for imbibing value based holistic learning thereby making it “the centre of excellence” for decades.
IHM, KOLKATA was founded in 1963 with its temporary campus located at 21, Convent Road. The founder Principal was MR (LATE). P. A. KOSHY. It started with a total number of 16 students only. Gradually it gained in popularity and the number of students also grew in leaps and bounds over the years, In the year 1980 the Institute was shifted to the new building with a campus at P-16, TARATALA ROAD which is the present address. The campus are equipped with state of the art infrastructure with top class residential facilities.
It is a co-educational Institute offering Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree programme in HOSPITALITY & HOTEL ADMINISTRATION that is accredited jointly by NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR HOTEL MANAGEMENT, NOIDA and JAWAHARLAL NEHRU UNIVERSITY, NEW DELHI. In addition to this it also runs a number of short courses in Food Production, Food & Beverage, Accommodation Operation and front Office.
